Meet Pia Baroncini

How do you make your health a priority?

When I wake up, my first thought is, what form of exercise are we doing this morning? I’m also psycho about my supplements and I love a bio-hack, so we’re very thoughtful about making sure we’re eating well.

“And now that we’re having a child, I want her to feel good about exercise.”

I want her to love her body one day. I want her to get excited about broccoli and excited about the farmer’s market and not have sugar be a reward. But have some gelato when you want to. Last night we had Jon and Vinny’s and instead of having that send me into a spiral, it was such a joyful meal. When I treat my body like shit or overdrink or make bad food decisions, I start to spiral. So I make sure there’s balance. That’s what pregnancy is teaching me too.

How has pregnancy affected your mental health?

Being pregnant, I’ve transitioned to clean products, so having an organized and beautiful vanity without even using any of the products brings me so much joy and is good for my mental health. My Botox is gone and I can’t do any of the things that I’m used to doing. Then my melasma gets really bad. But my new morning and nighttime routine makes me feel a little bit more in control.

Currently, I’m creating life. I feel her kick and it is insane. My whole life I’ve been scared of getting pregnant because I’ve always struggled with my weight. I’ve always wanted to be pregnant and I’m dying to be a mom, but I’m scared I’m not going to able to get back to a healthy weight. It’s haunted me. Honestly, right now, I’m having a pretty tough time. I’m doing everything I can. I’m working out so much and I’m walking in the morning while wearing compression pants, I’m dry brushing, and getting lymphatic drainage. I’m doing all this stuff, so part of me is like, there’s nothing else I can do.

What do you put into your body that makes you feel good?

Above this drawer is where our juicer and blender are. So it’s become this little tincture station. I’ll boil some water and I’ll pretend I’m at Erewhon. I’ll put in some Moon Juice Spirit Dust and Brain Dust, MCT, coconut oil, cacao, and make these yummy things. I’m pretty regular now, but for the most part, I try to switch up. I don’t want my body to get super used to a lot of things. If you drink coffee everyday, then all of a sudden the coffee doesn’t work as well.

“I also eat tons of seeds like chia, flax, and hempseeds.”

We all have different protein and collagen powders and I put it all in here in an organized manner to encourage my mom and husband to take them, too.
